OUR STORY
THE SPARK (2018)
In 2018, I started Lea Phenom with a humble amount of savings and a massive amount of determination. My name is Moin Abbasi, and back then, I was at a crossroads, searching for a way to build something meaningful—not just for myself, but to provide a future for my family. I tried many different paths, but nothing clicked until a friend suggested i try my hand at making leather wallets.
I didn't start as an expert; I started as a student. I spent that entire first month teaching myself the traditional hand-stitch method. I remember those early days clearly—the trial and error, the long nights of practice, and the simple goal of making something high-quality for the people closest to me.
What began as a personal project for my family quickly turned into a passion for the craft. I realized that if I was going to put my name on something, it had to be phenomenal. I wasn't interested in the fast, machine-made methods used by everyone else. I wanted to be a Phenom—a maker who masters the details that others ignore. That commitment to excellence is what turned a small idea into the brand you see today.
THE DIY SPIRIT
As I grew, I found a gap in the market: no one was willing to do the slow, difficult work of hand-stitching. Everyone wanted the easy way out. I started my own mini workshop in 2019, determined to keep the craft alive.
In the beginning, I sourced many tools from China. When I needed a press machine for cutting leather, I found there were no brands making them in Pakistan, and importing one was far too expensive. Instead of giving up, I collaborated with a local welder to build my own custom press. I reinvested every penny back into the craft, and in the meantime, I moved from retail leather market to working directly with Pakistan’s local tanneries to source the finest full-grain cow and buffalo leather.
A FAMILY MISSION
The year 2020 was a major challenge; because of the pandemic, my workshop had to close down. However, it also became the moment Lea Phenom truly transformed. After the lockdowns, my brother Ubaid Abbasi joined me, and we turned my solo passion into a family mission.
With Ubaid’s help, the brand began to grow much faster. Having him by my side allowed us to scale our vision and reach new heights that I couldn't have reached alone. We aren't just a business; we are a family dedicated to the art of hand-stitching, working together to ensure every piece meets our standards.
